Arajet Assumes Co-Presidency of ALTA Flight Operations and Security Committee

The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) has announced the appointment of Herman Schumacher as co-president of the security committee and flight operations.

This designation was made in recognition of Mr. Schumacher’s work and career. He currently serves as vice president of security and quality operations at Arajet. The announcement was made as part of the preparations for the ALTA Aviation Safety, Flight Ops & Training Summit—one of the region’s premier operational safety events.

Each year, during this summit, ALTA formally introduces new leaders who will take on the responsibility of guiding the collaborative work of this technical committee. Its objective is to identify and mitigate the main risks faced by air operations in Latin America and the Caribbean.

ALTA’s leadership praised Schumacher as a distinguished professional in the aeronautical sector, recognizing his solid career trajectory, exceptional leadership skills, and commitment to the development of safer and more modern regional aviation.

The ALTA Flight Safety and Operations Committee serves as a vital platform for the exchange of best practices among air operators, authorities, and industry experts. It aims to strengthen operational safety, enhance operational efficiency, and promote a more sustainable aviation industry.

“We strongly believe that the diversity of knowledge and peer collaboration are fundamental to adding value to the technical work we carry out. Therefore, each member who joins the committee strengthens our common purpose: to promote a safer, more efficient, and environmentally responsible industry,” ALTA stated in its official announcement.
The committee meets in person during the annual summit and holds periodic meetings throughout the year, ensuring continuous and collaborative work among operational leaders in the region’s airline industry.
