The initiative was the brainchild of Ambassador Angie Martinez who, upon her arrival in Jamaica set out to forge closer trade and investment relations between the Dominican Republic and Jamaica.

Cox, who started 20 years ago at JAMPRO as an intern, was first appointed acting president on January 2, 2023 and led the JAMPRO team that supported the recent Ministerial Mission to Guyana.
