iQor Opens 600-Seat Contact Center in Trinidad and Tobago, Its Second Location in the Country

Florida-based business process outsourcing (BPO) provider iQor has opened its second contact center in Trinidad and Tobago and plans to add 600 new jobs at this site in the city of Barataria.

This new launch expands upon the company’s already-significant presence in Port of the Spain, where it operates a center with around 500 employees located in the Tamana In-Tech Park technology cluster. Combined, iQor will now have more than 1,100 workers in the country throughout some 70,000 square feet of office space in the two centers.

The second location in Barataria is located roughly a 15-minute drive from Port of Spain and comes after iQor’s initial site grew to “full capacity due to strong client demand,” according to a statement from the company.

The new contact center is a 40,000-square foot facility that includes room for further expansion beyond the planned 600 seats should the need arise to add more to the local workforce. It features four “learning labs” as well as modern amenities to cultivate a worker-friendly atmosphere, including a game room and “penthouse cafeteria,” stated iQor

Gary Praznik, COO of iQor, credited the country’s talent pool and location among the reasons that the company has opted to invest so much in Trinidad and Tobago in this move that more than doubles its nearshore footprint on the islands.

”The new facility affirms iQor’s commitment to Trinidad and Tobago as the ideal outsourcing option for the United States domestic market,” said Praznik. “The country’s stable infrastructure, highly literate, English-speaking workforce, and location only four hours by air from Miami are tremendous competitive advantages.”
