Dominican Airline Arajet Offers $19 Fares to Stranded Viva Passengers

Low-fare Dominican airline Arajet said in a statement yesterday that the startup airline regrets the news of Colombian low-cost carrier Viva’s cessation of operations and stands in solidarity with the affected staff, pilots, crew and customers.

With the aim of deepening its mission of increasing the entry of tourists and strengthening cultural and commercial exchange between The Dominican Republic and Colombia, Arajet is offering passengers affected by the cessation of operations of Viva and who had as destination Dominican Republic, a special rate of US$19 (plus taxes and fees) to relocate them on the first available flight to Santo Domingo, which is located less than two hours by car from the Viva destination of Punta Cana.

To take advantage of this benefit, Arajet invites affected passengers to send their personal information, email, contact telephone number and active reservation with Viva Air to the email [email protected] before Friday, March 10 to fly with this special rate on the first available flight from the same route and dates of the original reservation. Arajet connects through direct flights to Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Cartagena and Barranquilla with Santo Domingo.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Applies to bookings until March 10 and to travel until March 31, 2023.
  • Applies for a single SMART fare flight according to the itinerary presented by the passenger (round trip or single leg) for each of the affected passengers.
