AWS Launches New Blockchain Templates to Streamline Development Process

In an effort to allow more people to develop blockchain-based innovations, Amazon recently launched a new platform of AWS Blockchain Templates.

The blockchain frameworks included are Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric and can be deployed using managed and certified AWS CloudFormation templates, according to the technology giant’s cloud division AWS.

The company says that its goal is to allow developers, including those in the financial and fintech sector, to focus on “building your blockchain applications instead of spending time and energy on manual setup of your blockchain network.”

In a statement, it added more technical details on how people and companies can go about using with the new templates.

“AWS Blockchain Templates deploy the blockchain framework you choose as containers on an Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) cluster, or directly on an EC2 instance running Docker,” said AWS in a statement.

“Your blockchain network is created in your own Amazon VPC, allowing you to use your VPC subnets and network Access Control Lists. You can assign granular permissions using AWS IAM to restrict which resources an Amazon ECS cluster or Amazon EC2 instance can access.”
