Arajet, a Dominican Republic-based low-cost airline, has joined the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), becoming its latest member. ALTA Executive Director José Ricardo Botelho noted Arajet’s role in increasing accessibility and connectivity across the region, highlighting its emphasis on sustainable practices in aviation. Arajet’s fleet of Boeing aircraft has reportedly cut fuel consumption by 14% and reduced noise emissions by 50% compared to similar models.
Arajet’s CEO, Víctor Pacheco, emphasized the airline’s growth, noting new connections from Santo Domingo to over 23 destinations across 16 countries. Celebrating its second anniversary, the airline was recently recognized as the “Best New Airline in the World” at the CAPA 2023 awards.
With ALTA membership, Arajet aims to expand its network and promote sustainable growth in collaboration with other regional carriers, reinforcing its mission of affordable travel in Latin America and the Caribbean.
