The partnership underscores the growing role of low-cost carriers in regional logistics and highlights the Dominican Republic’s strategy to leverage international sporting events to bolster its position as a primary Caribbean aviation hub.

The organizing committee for the Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe Santo Domingo 2026 has entered into a formal collaboration agreement with Arajet. Under the terms of the agreement, the Santo Domingo-based airline will serve as the official carrier for the regional sporting event, which is scheduled to take place in the Dominican capital.

The partnership is intended to facilitate the logistical requirements of the event by providing air connectivity for athletes, official delegations, technical staff, and spectators. The Juegos Centroamericanos y del Caribe represent one of the oldest regional multi-sport competitions, and the 2026 edition in Santo Domingo will coincide with the centennial of the first games held in 1926.

Víctor Pacheco Méndez, chief executive officer and founder of Arajet, noted that the agreement aligns with the company’s objective to position the Dominican Republic as a strategic hub for the Americas. Pacheco indicated that the airline’s modern fleet would be utilized to support the mobility needs of the participants from across the region.

This agreement represents our commitment to sports, to youth, and to positioning the Dominican Republic as a regional connection hub. — Víctor Pacheco Méndez, CEO of Arajet.

José P. Monegro, president of the Organizing Committee of the Central American and Caribbean Games, stated that the inclusion of a local carrier improves the organizational and logistical capacity necessary for the successful execution of the games. The alliance is expected to enhance the Dominican Republic’s profile as a host for major international events.

Arajet, which began operations in 2022, currently utilizes an all-Boeing fleet consisting of Boeing 737 MAX (NYSE: BA) aircraft. The airline operates from two primary bases at Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana International Airport. Its current network connects the Dominican Republic to destinations throughout North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean.
