Altia Smart Cities Stays Open, Protects BPO & Contact Center Workers During Pandemic

As governments around the world are implementing measures to contain the Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic, the Altia Smart Cities BPO Free Zone Developments in Tegucigalpa & San Pedro Sula, Honduras announced that they have been taking strict precautions to protect their tenants, employees and their families, while securing operations inside the business parks.

To support all of their customers, ALTIA directly requested special permission to continue operations from the Honduran government and coordinated with health officials, following their guidelines in a very strict manner.

“Our sites in San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa are continuing to operate as we have an extensive contingency plan in place securing our activities and all our clients’ ongoing businesses. We have one person assigned in each tower and one in Food-Zen disinfecting everyone’s shoes before entering. Common areas are being thoroughly washed twice a day. We have placed and provided hand sanitizers inside each tower and Rec-Zen to encourage hand hygiene. We are routinely cleaning all frequently touched surfaces in all common areas. We are following all recommended precautions and have implemented an evaluation plan to help us make informed decisions regarding on-site activities,” said the business park operator in a statement.

Altia is proactively implementing a range of precautionary measures to maintain a healthy business operation and work environment:

  • Only 30 people are admitted to FoodZen. Both tables and order line are required and separated by a meter of distance.
  • FoodZen is maintaining delivery service to all customers.
  • Workplace distancing
  • A medical staff oftwo doctors and one nurse are standing by from 5:30 am to 12:00 pm and one doctor and a nurse from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
  • Global temperature checks: The medical staff is taking temperature, pressure and monitoring for possible symptoms.
  • The triage area is being disinfected every two hours.
  • If they consider someone to be at risk, the HR department of that company is immediately notified to help coordinate transportation and is sent home.

Altia’s measures are aligned with World Health Organization, government guidelines and local health officials, and they indicate that they will continue to adjust their approach as necessary.
